1. What is North Fair Oaks Forward?

North Fair Oaks Forward (NFO Forward), a San Mateo County Initiative, coordinates new projects and programs that are part of the implementation of the North Fair Oaks Community Plan (adopted by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in November 2011.)  In addition to coordinating the roll out of community projects, North Fair Oaks Forward provides information to residents, businesses and other stakeholders in the community as the new projects are being planned and implemented.  Finally, NFO Forward is working with a wide array of individuals and organizations to make sure that community members take advantage of the many ways they can get involved to influence the projects before and during implementation.

  2. What can NFO Forward do for me or my organization?

NFO Forward, working with many community partners, connects stakeholders (residents, business owners, and community organizations) with the public agencies that serve this community. By sharing information and resources and promoting collaboration, NFO Forward is working for integrated outcomes that serve this community.  NFO Forward publishes a quarterly bilingual newsletter to ensure that information about new projects and programs is readily available in the community.  North Fair Oaks Forward also hosts quarterly "community update" meetings for stakeholders.  At these meetings, usually held at the Fair Oaks Community Center, individuals learn more about specific projects such as the upcoming changes in Middlefield Road and they have the chance to share their own thoughts and concerns related to those projects.

  3. Who do I contact to find out more about North Fair Oaks Forward?
