Redwood City & North Fair Oaks Community Resources Handbook
The handbook is intended to inform families and practitioners about the availability of resources in four key areas: Adult Education, Early Childhood Care and Education, Food, and Mental Health. It was developed in collaboration with many dedicated Redwood City 2020 affiliate partners and their work and contributions are gratefully acknowledged. For more information, click here.
Fair Oaks Community Center
Fair Oaks Community Center, located at 2600 Middlefield Road, offers an array of services to the broader Redwood City community. These services are provided by a combination of staff of the City of Redwood City and representatives from public, private and nonprofit organizations. Services, available in English and Spanish include information and referral, crisis intervention, food programs, housing assistance, immigration and citizenship information and legal services. Fair Oaks Health Center
The Fair Oaks Health Center provides a variety of services including: Primary Care, Women’s Health, Podiatry, Optometry, Dental Services, Mental Health Services, On-site Laboratory and Pharmacy, and Community Resources like WIC, Nutrition Education, and Health Education. Fair Oaks Library, a branch of the Redwood City Library
The Fair Oaks Library, located at 2510 Middlefield Road, is open during the following hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 7:00pm
- Friday and Saturday: 10:00am - 5:00pm
- Closed Sunday
The library offers programs for adults and children in Spanish and English. For more information, click here.
Family Connections

Redwood City 2020
Redwood City 2020 (RWC 2020) brings together key public and private organizations in Redwood City and unincorporated North Fair Oaks in ongoing efforts to ensure the health and success of all children, youth and families served by the Redwood City School District. Current partners are: City of Redwood City, First Five - San Mateo County, Kaiser Permanente, Redwood City School District, San Mateo County, Sequoia Healthcare District, Sequoia Union High School District, Stanford University - John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities. Together, RWC 2020 partners implement collaborative approaches that will open the doors to success. RWC 2020 has supported the development of the North Fair Oaks Community Plan and now is involved with outreach and community engagement efforts relating to the implementation of the Plan. Resident Resource Guide

St. Francis Center
The St. Francis Center is a nonprofit organization helping families in need to live in dignity and become self-supporting members of the community. Founded in 1986, the Center provides the local community with essential services such as housing, food, clothing, community garden spaces and education. Siena Youth Center
(SYC) is a cherished non-profit program of the St. Francis Center. The Youth Center strives to provide a safe, healthy, active, and happy place for the youth of the North Fair Oaks Community in Redwood City. The Center offers youth a positive place to become and stay healthy, to interact with others in the community, to receive mentorship and provide leadership. The center offers a structured after school program that serves youth ages 9-17.Through mentorship, leadership and guidance, the Center offers academic support, arts, and physical activities such as sports and academic enrichment activities. The Siena Youth Center is in partnership with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League, Coaching Corps, New Voices For Youth Film Program, Stanford University Vivamos Activos Program, Girls For Change, Sacred Heart Prepatory and the Redwood City Unified School District Selby Lane School. The Freedom Center
The Freedom Center was created in 1994 to meet the needs of low income Spanish and English speaking members of the community who have problems with substance abuse, alcoholism, and other related problems. Through counseling, education, and a 12 step study, people with substance abuse and other related issues can find a path to achieve and sustain recovery. Besides providing services for Drug and Alcohol Treatment, The Freedom Center also provides services for Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Gambling Addiction, Family Therapy, Parenting Classes and Youth Substance Abuse & Anger Management Treatment. The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County provides free legal services to low-income residents of San Mateo County.
